South African Captain's Comments After Victory Over Bangladesh
In the 21st match of the ongoing ninth edition of the T20 World Cup, South Africa narrowly defeated Bangladesh by 4 runs in a thrilling contest.
On Sunday, India triumphed over their arch-rival Pakistan at Nassau Cricket Stadium in New York, despite setting a modest target of 119 runs. On Monday, at the same venue, South Africa managed to secure a win against Bangladesh after posting a total of 113 runs.
After the match, South African captain Aiden Markram shared his thoughts, stating, "In crucial matches like those in the World Cup, the final over always brings a lot of nervousness. This nervousness can mentally exhaust you."
He further added, "In the last over of the innings, Keshav Maharaj bowled exceptionally well. Prior to that, our pace bowlers performed brilliantly. Especially after our batting line-up collapsed to 23 for 4; David Miller and Heinrich Klaasen built a record partnership of 79 runs. Thanks to them, we had a fighting chance.
