We Must Immediately Stop the War Against Nature: Forest Minister
The biggest ongoing war on Earth is the war against nature, which must be stopped immediately, stated Environment, Forest, and Climate Change Minister Saber Hossain Chowdhury.
He said that humans are a part of nature, so for our own existence, the indiscriminate destruction of nature and biodiversity must be halted.
The Minister made these remarks on Friday evening (July 5) at the inaugural event for the Rotary Club of Dhaka Pathfinders' 2024-2025 year, held at the Gulshan Club.
In his speech as the chief guest, the Minister further said, "We all talk about a green environment and a healthy future, but this will not be possible by the government alone. Instead, everyone in society must come forward and work together towards specific goals."
The Minister told the club members that Rotarians can play a crucial role in maintaining the stability of our environment and climate. He also urged everyone to work to prevent plastic pollution.
At the event, the outgoing President of the club, Rotarian Tabassum Hossain, administered the oath to the newly elected board of directors for the Rotary year 2024-2025. The event was attended by distinguished guests, Rotary members, and community leaders
