Prime Minister to Tour the Country from October
To connect with the people, Awami League President and Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina will embark on a nationwide tour starting in October.
This announcement was made by the party’s General Secretary, Obaidul Quader, during a discussion meeting held in Hemayetpur, Savar, on Wednesday, July 3rd, in celebration of the 75th anniversary of the Awami League.
He stated, "We need to strengthen the engine of the Awami League, which is powered by Dhaka metropolis and the districts. Therefore, we will reconnect with the people. Our leader will tour the entire country starting from October."
Referring to Sheikh Hasina as a person sent by God for the people, Quader noted that remittances and reserves have increased under her leadership. He emphasized that she is devoted to the country.
Commenting on the anti-quota movement, Quader mentioned that it existed before and still persists, with the BNP riding on this movement. He argued that a movement cannot succeed by relying on the shoulders of others.
He added, “They (BNP) try to scare people by saying Bangladesh will become India. They claim that whenever Sheikh Hasina visits India, she returns empty-handed. However, issues such as the border and enclave problems have been resolved. We have received our rightful share. What more is there to bring?”
Quader criticized Khaleda Zia for distributing 3,000 pieces of Jamdani sarees in India and forgetting to discuss the Ganges treaty. He questioned, "With what face do BNP leaders now talk about the Teesta River?
