Mirza Abbas Loses Temper at BNP Rally
At a BNP rally in front of the central office in Naya Paltan, demanding the release of Chairperson Begum Khaleda Zia, party Standing Committee member Mirza Abbas lost his temper when party activists interrupted his speech with slogans.
The rally began at around 2:45 PM on Saturday, June 29, with senior BNP leaders taking turns to address the audience from the stage.
While Mirza Abbas was delivering his speech, the activists continued to chant slogans, causing him to lose his temper. He scolded the crowd, saying, "You disrespectful people, listen. Don’t chant slogans while speeches are being made."
He continued, "When necessary, we cannot be found in the field. We only chant slogans without taking action. In the past 15 years, the BNP has not achieved the desired results from our movements because our activists are not present in the field at the crucial times. Fear among the workers led to the failure of the movement on October 28. If there had been a counter-protest that day, BNP would have seen results."
He urged the leaders and activists to leverage public support and take to the streets
