Pickup Truck Falls into Ditch in Sylhet; Driver Rescued after Cutting through Wreckage

A pickup truck lost control and overturned into a ditch in the Nazirbazar area of Dakshin Surma, Sylhet. While no one was killed, three people were injured, one of whom is in critical condition.

The accident occurred on Wednesday, July 3rd, at around 7 AM.

Eyewitnesses reported that a pickup truck (Dhaka Metro-N 23-1283) carrying Thai glass was heading towards Sylhet. Due to high speed, the vehicle lost control just after crossing Nazirbazar, hit a wall on the side of the road, and overturned into a ditch. The driver and two passengers were seriously injured, with one in critical condition.

Local residents managed to rescue two passengers, but the driver was trapped inside. Upon receiving the news, a fire service team from Tajpur Station in Osmaninagar arrived and first sent the two rescued injured passengers to the hospital in an ambulance. However, they struggled to extricate the driver. Later, using machinery, they cut through the wreckage to rescue the driver and took him to the hospital.

The injured driver, Kamrul Hasan Suhan (26), is the son of Kamal Hossain from Chakr Da Majhpara village in Fulbaria, Mymensingh. The identities of the other two injured individuals have not yet been determined.

Md. Yardous Hasan, Officer-in-Charge of Dakshin Surma Police Station, said, "Upon receiving the news, our police team went to the scene. No one has died. The injured have been taken to Osmani Medical College Hospital
