CID yet to receive forensic report of recovered meat even after 10 days
Despite being overdue by 10 days, the forensic report of the meat recovered from a septic tank in New Town, Kolkata, has not yet been received by the Criminal Investigation Department (CID). Approximately 4 kilograms of minced meat was recovered from a septic tank in a residence in New Town, Kolkata, following the murder of Anwarul Azim Anar, a member of Parliament for Jhenaidah-4 constituency.
After two remand periods and questioning, the alleged murderer, Kasai Jihad Haoladar, has been sent to jail custody for 14 days by the Barrackpore Court Judge, directing his protection in jail. Additionally, suspicions have arisen regarding another alleged murderer, Siyam, in Nepal, who has been arrested and brought to Kolkata for investigation, sparking various speculations. However, the CID, responsible for investigating the case in Kolkata, has not confirmed any information regarding this matter to the media.
On Friday (June 7), through a prison van under tight security, Siyam was taken to the Barasat Court from the Nazirbazar Security Vestibule. Chief Judicial Magistrate Shushankar Biswas has directed to keep Jihad in custody until June 21.
Previously, on the night of May 23, Siyam was arrested while trying to flee to Bangladesh from the border area of Banagram. To ascertain the whereabouts of the body, the investigating agency, CID, detained him for 12 days in their custody for questioning. Although he was questioned for an additional two days after obtaining remand on June 5, he was taken to court again on Friday.
In connection with the murder of Anwar, CID claims that the meat is of Anar's body found at the 56-BU Flats in Sanjivya Gardens, New Town. However, even after sending samples of the meat to the Central Forensic Lab in Delhi on the same day, the forensic report of the 10-day-old sample has not yet reached the CID, according to various sources within the investigation.
