Netanyahu: War Will Not End Before Hamas is Eliminated
1.
Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has stated in a briefing that the war will continue unabated until the military and administrative infrastructure of Hamas is not dismantled.
He mentioned that Israel's conditions for ending the war have not changed; the destruction of Hamas's military and administrative structures, the release of all hostages, and ensuring that Gaza does not pose a threat to Israel.
On Friday, a proposal to end the ongoing conflict in blockaded Gaza was presented by United States President Joe Biden. In this proposal, Biden stated that there will be a ceasefire for the first six weeks. Then, Israeli forces will withdraw from populated areas in Gaza. Substantial humanitarian aid will be delivered to Gaza, Israel will release several hundred Palestinian prisoners, and Hamas will release Israeli hostages, including male soldiers.
After these steps, the reconstruction of Gaza will commence. Finally, all types of attacks between the two parties will cease, meaning a permanent ceasefire will be established. Biden has characterized this as an Israeli proposal.
However, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has rejected the proposal made by the American President.
He further stated that Israel will maintain its conditions until a permanent ceasefire is achieved. There is no possibility of Israel agreeing to a permanent ceasefire before these conditions are met.
In response to Biden's ceasefire proposal, Hamas immediately declared it as "provocative."
Additionally, opposition parties in Israel have expressed support for the proposal. Family members of those held hostage by Hamas are also demanding the implementation of these conditions.
