Familiar Faces at India's Key 4 Ministries
The announcement of the new cabinet of the Modi-led government in India has been made. However, amidst the new cabinet, the ministers for four key ministries remain unchanged. These familiar faces are retained in the new cabinet.
Indian media reports that Amit Shah continues to lead the Ministry of Home Affairs, Rajnath Singh remains in charge of Defense, S. Jaishankar oversees External Affairs, and Nirmala Sitharaman handles the Finance Ministry.
Additionally, Nitin Gadkari retains the Ministry of Road Transport and Highways, with Ajay Tamta and Harsh Malhotra as his deputies.
The management of the crucial ministries of Power and Urban Development will be under the supervision of Manohar Lal Khattar. He will be assisted by Shripad Naik for the former and Tokhan Sahu, the newly elected minister from Chhattisgarh, for the latter.
Former Chief Minister of Madhya Pradesh Shivraj Singh Chouhan will take over the Ministry of Agriculture. Moreover, CR Patil and Bhupendra Yadav will oversee the Ministry of Jal Shakti and Environment respectively.
Former Chief Minister of Bihar and JD(U) leader Jitan Ram Manjhi will lead the Ministry of Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises, with Shobha Karandlaje serving as a minister of state.
Furthermore, Ashwini Vaishnaw will manage the Railways, and the Ministry of Civil Aviation will be handled by Ram Mohan Naidu, a first-time minister from TDP. He is also one of the least experienced ministers in Modi's new Cabinet.
The responsibilities of the Sports and Food Processing Ministries have been assigned to LJP Chief Chirag Paswan.
