U.S. Senator Supports Report Accusing Israel of War Crimes
Recently, a United Nations investigation commission published a report following an in-depth investigation into the Israel-Palestine conflict. The report accuses both Hamas, the Palestinian liberation group, and the Israeli authorities of committing "war crimes and crimes against humanity." U.S. Senator Bernie Sanders has expressed support for this report, according to Anadolu Agency.
On Thursday, Senator Sanders endorsed the UN report, stating that since October 7, both Israel and Hamas have committed war crimes.
He emphasized the necessity of supporting the efforts and findings of international organizations like the United Nations and the International Criminal Court.
Sanders stressed the importance of the United States taking a strong stance to enforce international law and ensure accountability.
The UN commission's report is scheduled to be presented at the 56th session of the United Nations Human Rights Council in Geneva on June 19.
It is worth noting that since October 7 of last year, Israel has continuously carried out brutal attacks on Gaza. Despite the UN Security Council's calls for a ceasefire, the attacks have not stopped.
The Palestinian Ministry of Health has reported that more than 37,200 Palestinians have been killed in Gaza so far, the majority of whom are women and children, and over 84,900 have been injured
