India Unable to Return Home Despite Winning the World Cup

Even after winning the World Cup, India's victorious team has been unable to return home due to the devastating Category 4 hurricane, "Beril," wreaking havoc in the Caribbean islands.

Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli, stranded due to the hurricane, are currently confined to their hotel. It remains uncertain when they will be able to return to India.

The administration at Barbados' airport has suspended operations due to the hurricane. They initially indicated that flight operations might resume before Monday afternoon, but the situation remains uncertain, and flights may commence either late Tuesday night or early Wednesday morning, depending on the circumstances.

According to sources within the board, Indian media outlet Anandabazar Patrika reported that the Indian team is stuck in their hotel due to the hurricane. However, even essential services are not fully available at the hotel due to the natural disaster.

The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) is closely monitoring the situation caused by the hurricane. They are not rushing to bring the Indian team back to the country. If conditions improve, arrangements may be made to repatriate the cricketers via chartered flights.

Following their World Cup victory, the Indian team had plans to travel from Barbados to New York by plane before heading to Mumbai. However, due to the hurricane, these plans are now subject to definite changes.

Notably, on June 29th, after a 17-year hiatus, India won the T20 World Cup final against Proteas by 7 runs at Kensington Oval in Barbados
