Imran Khan Reveals Biggest Mistake While in Power
Former Pakistani Prime Minister and PTI founder Imran Khan has stated that his only mistake while in power was trusting former Army Chief General (retired) Qamar Javed Bajwa.
He made this statement in a recent exclusive interview with Middle Eastern journalist Mehdi Hasan. The interview was published on the independent news outlet Geo TV.
In the interview, Imran Khan said, "I am being kept in what is called a death cell (a solitary cell for death row inmates). It is a very small place where terrorists are held. The authorities want to portray me as a terrorist. I am not given any of the basic rights that a prisoner should have. They are trying to break my spirit with these actions. However, my faith in Allah keeps me strong. Over the past two years, I have had the time to analyze all my steps and their consequences. After spending 11 months in jail, I am almost certain that General Bajwa was behind all this. I do not blame anyone else. He subtly planned and executed the whole affair."
Imran Khan further said that General Bajwa created chaos both nationally and internationally with false and fabricated narratives. He failed to understand the negative impact this had on democracy and Pakistan.
Addressing the world, Imran said, "My message is very simple. This incident did not happen to Imran Khan alone. It was an attack on democracy and the 250 million people of Pakistan. Men, women, and children have been killed, abducted, and tortured. No one has spoken up. Only one political party has been blamed for everything."
