No Native Canadian Players in Canada's World Cup Squad

The Canadian cricket team is competing in the T20 World Cup, but none of the players in the squad are actually from Canada. Instead, the team is comprised of players on loan from other countries.

In the opening match of the ninth edition of the World Cup, which took place last Sunday at 6:30 AM Bangladesh time, Canada faced off against the United States. Despite setting a challenging target of 194 runs, Canada lost the match by 7 wickets.

In that match, seven players in the Canadian team were born in India. Remarkably, none of the 22 players who played for Canada and the United States in the first match were born in either country. Instead, players from ten different countries participated.

Of the eleven players fielded by the United States, six were born in Pakistan, South Africa, New Zealand, Canada, and India. Similarly, the eleven players representing Canada were born in six different countries.

Interestingly, while the United States team included a player born in Canada, the Canadian team did not have any players born in their own country.
