Russian missile attack in Mariupol city, 9 dead

A ballistic missile attack carried out by Russia in the city of Mariupol in southern Ukraine has resulted in 9 fatalities. The President of Ukraine, Zelensky, was born in this city. The country's Interior Minister, Ihor Klimenko, mentioned that in this attack, 29 people, including five children, were injured.

According to reports from British media Reuters, the incident of this attack took place in a residential building on Wednesday (June 12).

The Ukrainian military command informed through a Telegram messaging app that the most destructive attack in recent weeks has caused damage to an administrative building and an apartment block.

Klimenko stated that the recovery work has been completed.

Commenting on the incident of the attack in his city, President Volodymyr Zelensky said, "Every day and every hour, Russia proves that Ukraine needs to strengthen its air defense capabilities with its terrorists."

In a shared video of Mariupol, it can be seen that a person is being brought out on a stretcher from the ruins of a building. Firefighters are trying to put out the fire, and rescue workers have lifted a concrete block from amidst the debris.
