Shooting Incident Causes Bus to Plunge into Gorge in Jammu-Kashmir, Resulting in 42 Casualties
A tragic incident occurred in Jammu-Kashmir, India, where a bus carrying pilgrims came under gunfire, causing the vehicle to lose control and plunge into a gorge. This incident resulted in 42 casualties.
The shooting took place on Sunday in the Reasi district as the bus was returning from a temple. According to District Magistrate Vishesh Mahajan, the attack has so far resulted in the deaths of 9 individuals and left 33 others injured.
Local sources and police reports indicate that the bus was traveling from Shiv Khori temple towards Katra when it was targeted by separatist fighters in Jammu-Kashmir. The driver lost control of the bus following the attack, leading to the vehicle rolling into a gorge.
Upon receiving the news, police officers quickly arrived at the scene and initiated rescue operations. Authorities have stated that the number of casualties may increase.
