J.P. Nadda Takes Oath as Minister: Speculations Rise Over Next BJP President

J.P. Nadda, the national president of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), has taken the oath as a minister in Prime Minister Narendra Modi's cabinet. Along with Prime Minister Modi, 72 other ministers and junior ministers were sworn in today.

From 2014 to 2019, Nadda served as the Health Minister in Modi's first cabinet. In 2020, he succeeded Amit Shah, the central Home Minister and the party's chief strategist, as the BJP president.

Nadda's term as BJP president was originally set to end in September 2022. However, his tenure was extended until the 2024 Lok Sabha elections.

With Nadda now taking the ministerial oath, speculation has arisen about who will become the next BJP president. The party is expected to announce a new president soon.

Previously, names such as Manohar Lal Khattar and Shivraj Singh Chouhan were considered for the position of BJP national president. However, both have taken the oath as ministers in Modi's cabinet on Sunday. Consequently, there is renewed speculation about who will assume the role of BJP national president. The central leadership of the BJP has yet to provide any clarification on this matter.
