The government is leading Khaleda Zia towards death: Mirza Abbas
BNP's standing committee member Mirza Abbas has commented that the government is leading Khaleda Zia towards death by not allowing her to go abroad for advanced treatment.
Speaking at an event in Gulshan on Sunday (May 26th), Mirza Abbas said, "She (Khaleda Zia) is not here with us. She is not allowed to come in front of us or speak. Doctors have already clarified that her treatment is not possible in Bangladesh. They have informed that she needs to be taken abroad immediately."
He said, "Even after repeated reminders, a person witnessing how someone is being murdered will be considered a criminal in history. Those who are not allowing Khaleda Zia to go abroad will be seen as criminals in history. When the time comes, Insha'Allah, they will be held accountable."
He further stated, "If the Awami League government continues to stay in power, they will not allow JeI (Jamaat-e-Islami) leaders like Khaleda Zia, Tarique Rahman, and BNP's existence. And the biggest thing is, if this government stays, the country's independence will not be maintained. If we cannot awaken the people of the country, if we do not become conscious ourselves, we will not be able to survive under this government's rule."
At this time, the convenor of the Citizen Unity Council, Mahmudur Rahman Manna, said, "After January 7, many people among the public have said things that they could not do. The Awami League government will remain for five years. Some people have said that they will not be able to hold onto power as long as they are alive. Now I see they are fighting among themselves."
He added, "There have been several incidents that I have noticed in the newspapers involving the nervous government. This includes a former Inspector General of Police, a former Chief of Army Staff, and an MP thrice. Whose responsibility is it? Who made the Chief of Army Staff, the Inspector General, and the MP?"
