Hezbollah's Devastating Attack Burns 10 Square Kilometers in Israel
Lebanon's armed group Hezbollah has launched extensive rocket and drone attacks along Israel's northern border, resulting in a severe fire that has scorched nearly 10,000 dunams or 10 square kilometers of land.
Starting Monday night, Hezbollah began its assault using rockets and drones on Israel's northern frontier. The exact number of rockets or drones used in this attack remains unspecified, according to reports by the Times of Israel.
Israel's Fire and Rescue Services stated that over 30 firefighting units have been deployed to extinguish the fires, leading to the closure of several major roads in the Galilee area.
A statement from the fire department confirmed that there have been no casualties or damage to civilian infrastructure due to these attacks by Hezbollah.
Earlier, on Sunday, rocket fire from Hezbollah in northern Israel caused a bushfire, burning 10,000 dunams or 10 square kilometers of trees and open spaces, including nature reserves, as reported by the Israel Nature and Parks Authority. They mentioned that dozens of firefighting units worked for hours to control the fires in Katzrin town and other regions of the Golan Heights. Some areas continued to burn into Monday.
Sharon Levy, the director of the Golan district of the Israel Nature and Parks Authority, told Israeli news outlet Ynet News on Monday that the fires caused by Hezbollah's rockets have burned parts of the Yehudia Forest Nature Reserve, hiking trails, and areas within the Black Canyon of the reserve.
