Khamenei's Message to Hajj Pilgrims

Hajj is a great source of confidence for Muslims and a cause of fear for their enemies, stated Iran’s Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei in a message to Hajj pilgrims.

In his message, Khamenei said that the vast and complex rituals of Hajj instill confidence in Muslims while simultaneously causing fear in enemies and malevolent forces.

Addressing everyone as brothers and sisters, Ayatollah Khamenei urged, "Illuminate your thoughts and actions with the true and radiant teachings of Hajj. Return home with the lofty ideals and valuable culture of Hajj."

The Hajj ceremonies have already begun in Saudi Arabia. The rituals typically start with the journey to Mina, where pilgrims don the Ihram clothing.

From Thursday evening, pilgrims have been moving to Mina, filling the area with the chant, “Labbaik, Allahumma Labbaik, Labbaika La Sharika Laka Labbaik.”

This year, around 2 million people from all over the world are participating in Hajj. Sheikh Dr. Maher bin Hamad, Imam and Khatib of Masjid al-Haram, will deliver the Hajj sermon at the Plain of Arafat this year. Pilgrims will perform the sacrificial animal slaughter on Sunday
