Trump targets Biden after being convicted
Former US President Donald Trump has reacted strongly after being convicted in a case involving a bribe to a porn actress. He called the court's verdict 'unfair' and blamed President Joe Biden and his administration for it.
Following several weeks of hearings, on Thursday, May 30, an 11-member jury in a New York court convicted Trump of falsifying business records with the intent to conceal information.
Trump was found guilty of all 34 charges against him. His sentencing for these charges will be announced on July 11. For such crimes, Trump could face a maximum of four years in prison. Legal experts suggest that he is more likely to receive a fine rather than a prison sentence.
In a reaction from Trump Tower in New York City, the Republican presidential candidate blamed Biden and his administration for the verdict, calling the trial 'very unfair.' He said, "This is done by Biden and his people."
Meanwhile, it has been reported that Trump's supporters are calling for riots online in response to the verdict. These calls have appeared on at least three websites known to be pro-Trump: Truth Social, Patriots.win, and Gateway Pundit.
A Reuters report stated that Trump supporters are calling for attacks on the judge and jurist Juan Marchan, and even for a civil war. A post on Patriots.win urged New York residents to attack Judge Marchan, while a post on Gateway Pundit called on Trump supporters to 'shoot liberals.'
Trump was involved in a sexual relationship with Stormy Daniels, a porn actress. During the 2016 US presidential election, he paid Daniels a large sum to keep the affair quiet. Additionally, he allegedly falsified his business records to conceal this payment. However, Trump has consistently denied these allegations.
