Threat of bomb attack in IndiGo Airlines' aircraft, search operation

After the threat of an attack at Mumbai Airport and Taj Hotel in India, this time a threat of a bomb attack has been made on an aircraft of IndiGo Airlines. This caused panic at the Indira Gandhi International Airport in Delhi early Tuesday morning.

Indian media NDTV reported that at five o'clock this morning, IndiGo's flight 6E-2211 was scheduled to depart from Delhi Airport. However, before that, a tissue paper was found in the restroom of that flight, which had 'Bomb Blast @ 30 minutes' written on it.

Immediately after this incident, the journey of the flight was halted a few minutes before takeoff from the runway. Later, all passengers were evacuated through emergency exits and a search operation was initiated.

IndiGo authorities mentioned in a statement, "The aircraft is being inspected. After being satisfied with all security checks, if deemed safe, it will be taken back to the terminal."

Earlier, on May 15, a tissue paper with the word 'Bomb' written on it was found inside the toilet of an Air India aircraft. Even after a thorough search of the aircraft, the police did not find anything suspicious.

On the other hand, on Monday (May 27), Mumbai Police reported that a phone call received in their control room claimed a bomb attack threat at the main airport in the city and another famous hotel, Taj. After the phone call, initiating a search operation, police did not find anything suspicious despite conducting searches at various locations.

After initial investigation, Mumbai Police revealed that the threatening phone call had come from Uttar Pradesh. Efforts are underway to apprehend the suspects. Recently, in several cities including Delhi and Chennai, multiple phone calls have been received threatening bomb attacks, one after another.
